Peter Burchard has over thirty years of executive level experience in local government, health care and consulting. Peter has served as a city manager, a chief operating officer with a health care company and a board member for many distinguished organizations. He is a speaker, trainer, coach, writer and university faculty member.
For ten years, he served as the city manager in Naperville, Illinois a community with a population of 145,000. For sixteen years, ten as village manager, he served the Village of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, a community distinguished for its blend of neighborhoods and corporate facilities. Peter began his municipal career serving in several positions with the Village of Woodridge, Illinois.
In 2008 Peter became the Chief Operating Officer at inVentiv Medical Management in Augusta, GA. inVentiv provided physician based medical claims review, precertification, wellness and disease management to a client base of over 2,000 employers and 1 million covered lives.
Today, Peter serves on the board of the Northern Illinois University Alumni Association and the board of GreenFields of Geneva, a Friendship Senior Options Community. Peter teaches graduate level classes in ethics and innovation.

Site team member for the Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation – National Schools of Public Affairs and Administration
Advisory Board for the Division of Public Administration at NIU
Peter’s experience includes negotiating economic development and planning agreements covering headquarter offices for Sears, Ameritech, Siemens Gammasonics, Tellabs, Calamos Investments, Lucent Technologies, Office Max and an effort with the owners of the Chicago Bears to develop a new suburban football stadium.
Peter completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Northern Illinois University where he was named a Public Service Education Fellow. He is a member of the National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration and was recognized as the Outstanding Alumnus/Model Administrator by the American Society of Public Administration and Northern Illinois University.
Peter spent a semester of his undergraduate studies at Salzburg College in Austria focusing on international relations.
For ten years, Peter helped lead a weekly church service at a nursing home in Des Plaines, IL.
Peter is the author of a chapter in the book, The First 72 Hours – A Community Approach to Disaster Preparedness, iUniverse, 2004. In April, 2012, Peter authored an article regarding how governments can control healthcare costs for Corporate Wellness Magazine.
Peter is a professional auctioneer and event emcee. Peter has helped dozens of charities raise funds to carry out their mission and vision. On behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Peter has worked on-stage with Ellen DeGeneres, Howie Mandel, and Bonnie Hunt. As an auctioneer, Peter has sold thousands of automobiles and trucks.
Peter is married to Denise Burchard. They have three children.
